go to ace automotive web site for info on soda blasting there is also a video on there site. i have the portable model on the site  very pleased with it. soda sells for @ 30.00 for 50 lbs. i use it at @40psi

How long does it take to go thru 50 lbs of soda on average? Continuous spraying.

it is not possible to use soda in a cabinet, since it makes a white powder when it hits the part. you could not see what you are doing.  i use mine out behind my garage. i wear a mask, googles and coveralls. you look like a snowman when you are done. just blow it off then rinse everything down with water and it will disolve. clean all your parts in water to remove the soda residue. soda blasting was invented to clean the statue of liberty, so it is enviromently friendly.

I don't think my neighbors would appreciate the soda reacting with their pool chemicals. Grin

have never gone through that much at one time. ths soda goes a long way when using the small units. ths spray nozzel is small. so it is good for small parts and detail. the larger units would eat up 50 lbs fast just due to the size of the nozzel. the small units hold 10lbs which last longer than you would think. i plan out my blasting. yes if not away from others not well accepted.

think this would be good enough, for carbs and other small things?

yes i do, similar to mine. when i bought mine i did not know harbour freight had one . we have a harbour freight store in our city (louisville ky). you will need a good air compressor, since you will be running on pure air pressure. i have a 60 gallon ingersoll rand. when i bought mine they really pushed air pressure, if you do not have enough air you will not be able to work on a continous bases.
