Hi there I need your opinion How much would you pay for this car?  1979 Trans Am, Not Ws6, 403 Auto. Hard Top. I guess One of the most standard common ones. All there, and all original except for the wheels and a custom sunroof/moon roof. Runs but transmission slips. It does need work. Little Rust. Its a project. California Car. The guy selling it wants $1000

around my area you cant buy a decent driver project for under 2500-3000 if its less than that, it's missing alot or doesnt go down the road at all. $1000 for a solid car with a trans slip ohhhh man yeah back in 1995 for me.

i have bought several cali cars trust me your little rust isnt much to think about 1000 if it drives down the road even with a trans slip is cheap.

Agree $1K is a steal if it moves and it's all there.

that could be for several reasons
1. trans is weak
2. rear gear differences
3. ignition system
4. old restricted and plugged exhaust
5. junk or gummed up carb.

If you don't hurry and buy it I will, haha just kidding.  Go for it, looks like a great car for a heck of a deal.
