Yeah I really hope nobody got butthurt here. The fact is that no matter what brand you drive. No matter what engine you put in your car, or what mods you throw at it. There is always someone out there that is faster than you. And there is always gonna be someone that does not like your brand of vehicle no matter what brand you drive. Being loyal to 1 brand whether its ford, chevy, mopar, pontiac, buick, or even import doesn't make you or your car the best of anything. Thats what keeps us loving cars. The fact that we have so many options to choose from.

Like it or not EVERY auto maker makes some great cars, and they also make some lemons.

Anyone who does or wants to race then I encourage that I love drag racing. But take it to the drag strip and keep it off the streets.

Like the 1990 Subaru Loyale Turbo AWD Wagon.  I hated and loved that car at the same time, first time I ever felt that way about anything.

To gain some perspective on Mustangs I went out and drove a 67 bone stock 289 with a 4 speed.  I'm very surprised at how powerfull they are, I definately have more respect for them now.  It was so fast I got pulled over and it wasn't even my car, but pelling out does attract some unneeded attention from the police. Wink

I have driven a few Mustangs...a '96 V6 auto car, an '07 auto, and a '66 289 3 speed.  To tell you the truth, I never have been impressed with them.  They just don't have the handling and whatnot of an F-body.  Now, I'm not saying they're bad cars.  There's quite a fanbase for them out there, but I just never have been interested.

They're engines are pretty decent, I like the 3.8 v6 that they had in thier 4th gens it has a lot of power for a v6.  The 289 seems like a rocket, and is very responsive, but the F-Bodys handle a little better and they look cooler.  That new SHO is amazing, I don't know how they could put so much power in that car, modern automotive technology is pretty great

The neighbor across from me has a stock 1968 Dodge RT.  That 426 Hemi is so powerful.  It's the fastest car I've ever been in. If you are taking pure speed in a straight line, this car does it.  It's a beauty of a car too.  I am a big Mopar fan but I don't exploit it here because this IS a Pontiac Forum.  Can we get back to Pontiac's please!

rtpassini, sometimes people have to prove a point.  If you feel the need to race this guy, take it to a track.  JMHO

Not really a ford guy... Mustangs are cool and all, but from my experience with ford I don't like their product. Customer service isn't to great at the same time. For the price tag they put on some of their products you would think they would last a lot longer...even when it comes down to little things like window regulators.... I've had to replace the same one three times at $150 a pop, and it is broken yet again... of course this happens when the warranty is out. When mechanical went wrong a few months before the warranty ended they were lazy about it.

I do like the older mustangs a bit, but my overall view on ford is lacking in positive notes due to personal experience.

No need to be sorry bud.  We're good as I like the 289 motor as well.  If anyone is sorry it should be me for changing the subject to Mopar.  LOL
