If nobody has this weatherstripping who is the cheapest to get it from? I figure someone on here should have the flares in decent shape though, I'll probably need more parts to come. I'm driving 1,200 miles round trip to pick up my first T/A tomarrow. Its a black on black '78. Could easily be turned into a SE clone but I'm not sure if I should redo it in original or clone it. I doubt its a true SE but there is alot of gold striping on it but the headlight area is black so it looks like someone just did alittle pinstriping. She needs paint and interior but supposedly not much rust. Also if anyone knows a good place to buy interior parts I'm sure I'll that stuff too. Thanks

I hope (by some miracle) they are 1st design Hurst tops as weatherstripping for 2nd design Hurst tops are not currently reproduced.

Is there any alternative? There has got to be a way to do something with it isn't there?

You could hope to locate a set of NOS weatherstripping (and expect to pay $$$) or you might try your hand at converting them back to first design tops (whcih involves some metal work at minimum).

Here's a link with a lot of info on the differences in the parts:

Hard to be sure from that pic but with it being a '78, odds are they are the 2nd design.

Let us know what you find when you pick the car up and we can go from there Wink

Might be worth your time(and a few bucks) to find out for sure:

Sorry to hear that...that wasn't my intention.
Like I said, if they are 2nd design Hurst tops, you can always convert them back to 1st design with a little work.

If you have decided not to buy it, good luck on the next one  Grin
