I am going to attempt to put new covers on my front seats today, and was wondering if someone has or can post some helpful hints to doing this. Its a 79 with vinyl seats, and there is a zipper down the back, if that tells you anything. Any help would be great. thanx

I just got done doing the drivers seat and it came out pretty good. I will do the pass. seat tomorrow. The original seat had a zipper down the back, as well as the new seat  covers that I got from hitman.

Looks good.

Tip for anyone doing this, if you are reusing your old seat foams, you may want to add a 1/2" layer of foam to the old foam as it will likely have crushed some from use. If you put new covers over old crushed seat foam, the foam won't fill out the covers as well causing wrinkles and puckers. Best bet is to replace the foam, at least on the driver side as that's the one that is usually worn the most. Pass side usually isn't as bad.

I haven't done the zipper style but it is easier with the other style to put the foam in the cover and then slip it over the frame as opposed to wrestling the cover on over the foam already mounted on the frame. Thanks to Hitman for that tip.
