The VIN numbers break down in different ways depending on your model year so check the links below for the break down of years. As you can see in the photo above, the VIN numbers are usually broken down in a 13 digit/letter combination which identify the series, model, year, engine, assembly plant, and production number.

I had alot of help from various web sources and from the Catalog of Firebird ID Numbers 1967-93 and the Firebird Redbook. Also, there are quite a few other books out there with alot of valuable information regarding VIN numbers, Production numbers, etc.
