Yep ... socialism.  That's the way the democrats want it ... Obama said it to the plumber today.  Read the link.  Wait, I'll do it for the naysayers.

"It's not that I want to punish your success. I just want to make sure that everybody who is behind you, that they've got a chance for success too," Obama responded. "My attitude is that if the economy's good for folks from the bottom up, it's gonna be good for everybody ... I think when you spread the wealth around, it's good for everybody."

Well.  That sounds fair .... uh, doesn't it.  Dolfan13 ....send me $20, for nothing, OK.  How do you feel about that?

Here's the rub.  45% don't pay taxes yet the next stimulus plan that Pelosi's pushing is going to give them yet another handout.  That's pretty much taking from the taxpayer and giving it to non-taxpayers .. those who never paid into the system and probably never will.  Yep.  That's socialism.  Wake up.

BTW ... my prior rebate check, which shouldn't have been done to begin with, was less than $100.  I didn't make the $1200 handout but I damn sure paid into the system.  Mmmm ... that's real fair.  Let's see .. I work hard, pay my taxes and the government wants to give that money to somebody getting a monthly government check and who in many cases CHOOSES not to work.  Excuse me?

The banks are going belly up from all the bad loans they were coerced to give to people who shouldn't have gotten the loans to begin with ... thanks to the House services financial committee chairman pushing the liberal agenda.  The banks fail and the country fails .. not much of a choice from what I hear.  Thank the taxpayer again for making that bailout happen ... not the 45%, of which 90%+ I'm sure, vote Democratic.

Make sure you vote Democrat so we can up that to 51% in which case we'll all be arranging deck chairs on the Titanic.

There are better ways and words to express your opinions than some of the things posted here this evening.

John, step away from the keyboard  ;)  .  While what you are saying is 100% true, let's make sure we calm down before we post again. Your last post was fine, I just want to put a bug in your ear :)

I too am frustrated for the very same reasons.  We will be bankrupt very soon with the "tax the rich, give to the poor" economics.   Anyway, let's just keep the discussion civil folks.

My apologies ... I get a little miffed at times when I watch this great nation of ours stumble.  Thanks Rich ... I put the coffee down

Ok, this post was going a little South so I took the liberty of editing out some of the comments not appropriate for here.  Sorry if anyone has a problem with that, but I want to try and keep this clean and civil here.  Please refrain from using the comments that were edited out on the previous posts.  I will keep an eye out here so please keep this clean.  Thank you.

I really enjoyed BOTH candidates remarks at the Alfred E. Smith Memorial Dinner last night.  Both were at their best... funny and relaxed...  This news story link has a vid launch for each roast... they're about 15 minutes or so long... but both were quite good... especially McCain... he had Obama laughing pretty hard :)
