Did a little more, went back to the scrap yard and picked up the strikers that i needed as the Pontiac ones were far too big.....

Heres the new striker mounted.....  ( sorry it was dark when i shot it all )

A short video of it all connected up and working with the flush fit handles......

It opens so smoothly even my 8 year old son can open it with ease.......... LOVELY.

Theres a small bit of tidying up to do, but its all working including the original interior door opener, the other side and central locking wiring is next on that particular list.

Well a little more progress......... the rear seat is bolted and affixed in place.

Mike ( Hammer ) notice the Cupholders either side ? LOL thinking of you Buddy !

The centre storage box and the side panels still need to be finished........... but any progress has got to be a good thing.  ;)

^^^ Mate it goes back nearly 3 years now !

Hammer was on about how he'd love to have a cup holder in his Ta, so when i came across in 08 for the Nats i gave him a VW Cup holder.

It was meant as a joke, but in a strange twist of fate, it nearly fitted where the ashtray would be, well Mike made it fit.

and so thats why, but not only is that mystery cleared up but did you know...............

The king of hearts is the only king without a moustache on a standard playing card! and
until the nineteenth century, solid blocks of tea were used as money in Siberia!   Phew.

How much is it going to cost you to ship that thing across the pond when you decide to leave the land of hydraulic sunshine? Because that would be TOO big of a crying damn shame for you to leave a work of art like that there ;D
