well i feel like this is a trick question cuz you can clearly see the work done on the rear window, but after you paint it people wll have a much harder time noticing it. She looks great i always wanted like a 71 Trans am. with a shaker, i really like that blue with the single white stripe running down the middle causing the shaker to be white. so sick

funny though because aside from the body work, it was blue sheet metal put on a blue car lol.

Well, the pics aren't that great, but I don't see any evidence of the Fishers being added to the car. So I'm going to say it's a '78 - '81 with the early rear window, tail, hood, nose and the rest added. Something I'd really like to own actually. I love the Fishers and the early Formy hood and nose.

im going to guess it really is a 70-73 with a roof swap i dont see any evidance of tampering with the tail panel on the quarter of the drivers side. looks like the passenger side quarter may have been replaced with the incorrect year along with the roof.

i'd love to have another y88 but im not prepared to buy one at the moment and i think it would be weigh out do i want a black se or gold one more right now. however any links or pics of it?

well i think i really figured it out. you gave us a hint does it have to do with the decal on the spoiler. you can tell its a newer one because of the font used to say trans am?

Is it a 70 that someone put a 75-81 back glass in, and later someone but the 70 glass back ? has the rear tail panel been changed? any body panels original to the car? how abut the 5th number in the vin? ;D 8)

I have been following this thread, but haven't had a clue until I looked at the picture for the 67th time. I don't know about all the parts, but if you look close, it almost looks like it is a 3rd generation (rear hatch/window) that has been converted to look like a 2nd generation? How'd I do? :)

i see it i see it.... was that that turbo car your friend bought from you a long time ago back in june ish? that was an 80 or 81 if i recal correctly memory says it was an 81

RE: y88rick yes it is the transam i sold ivan a while ago.THE year is an 81 and is not a turbo transam .I know it was a 301 car i did a mtr swap to a 400 pontiac.

AN old woman t/boned a young spring chicken in this transam. it was her first transam,now that really suks tail pipes RIGHT.

coulda guessed. i have been hearin about so many old people crashes lately. there is this guy i know who stopped to see if this car needed help cuz it was pulled over with their hazzards on. turns out it was an old guy with his seat reclined back takin a little snooze

yeah i know. i have another funny story bout a old man who had his emergency brake locked.. i jumped int he car with my mom and tried catchin up with him, when i got to a stop sign i jumped out and he thought i was tryin to high jack him so he floored it and the a** end of his car being so hot from the tires melting swings around and hits a stone wall but he keeps going. we finally flag him down and he rolls his window down and smoke is pouring out of the inside of the car and he goes "whats wrong?" the back tires were completly melted down to the rim. that is a honest story. i couldn't believe it the best part was when he rolled his window down white smoke poured out im surprised he didn't pass out and kill somone

WTF??????????????????????????????????????????????????????????? wow i know old people are affraid of almost anything that is near them but come on? he didnt even have a clue his brake was on? there was an old guy doing 40on the highway last week. right lane left blinker on. kept swirving over to the left but not changing lanes. finally i pass him and then he changes lanes. then he gets in the left lane and turns his right blinker on and procedes to do this until i longer can see him from lane to lane to lane did he not know where he was going on a highway that all exits are on the right or was this his way of trying to lower the highway speed from 70mph to 40mph?

haha. yeah this guy i was just talkin about was the old man that alwasy did way under the speedlimit. no joke going down my back road which was a 30. you would be doing 15. on the hghway he would cruise at a solid 35

haha yeah as long as when he goes to hit the brake he doesn't accidently hit the gas like all the other old people have been doin lately. i feel like there have been an abnormal amount of accidents involving old people hitting pedestrians thinking they were hitting the brakes.
