Alternative T Top bags
« on: December 22, 2015, 11:09:22 PM »
No way am I paying 80$ for the repro fisher t top bags, or 70$ for the used ones on ebay. Does anyone know anything else that will work? I can't for the life of me find anything online or on ebay. Even bags for newer/less desirable cars are around 60$ and I doubt they will fit, the fishers are pretty big.

I used to use a blanket back in high school when I couldn't afford the t-top bags.

And now you can get them so $80 probably isn't a bad deal for the right part, lucky you.

I guess a blanket will work. I was just looking for a more elegant solution  ;D but I guess nobody makes a generic t top bag.

I have 2 sets.  One with 1978 date codes and a very nice set with 1981 codes.  Pm me if interested.
$75 or $150,  I even have a nos set, though not for sale.  FYI, $100 is common mid grade, they are usually hard crusty tore junk for that.  Always with a heavy crease in the middle, no one ever lays them flat, I do.
These bags when still avail at the dealers, were over a hundred dollars.  They were never cheap.

just go to an upholstery shop and have them make you a set. they won't have the fisher logo unless you have an old pair to transfer it but it will be made out of the same material as the original. That's what I did.

$80 is too much though, he's not going to get new custom ones made!

My t tops were scratched when I bought the car. I just figured 80$ was ridiculous when a 30$ addidas bag or something would suffice. I have a college boy budget, the car needs all my money. I just dont want to shatter them. my trunk doesnt even have carpeting, I have just been leaving them in the back of my other car. Its like buying repro floor mats. unless your car is collector grade then they arent worth the money. The t tops are just pretty big, so nothing at the store really fits. I just wanted something generic if that makes sense.
