Topic: Fuel line routing from tank?

I have recently replaced a kinked rubber fuel line that goes from tank. My  concern is that the rubber line is way too close to the exhaust pipe for my liking and I cant seem to figure out a good solution for a good way to keep it away from the exhaust. I was wondering if anyone can give me any tips? There just seems to be no good way around it, no matter where I would want to go with it its always basically touching it or only a half inch away

Post a pic if you can. It will help determine if it's original, correct, been modified or needs moving etc. What year/engine setup? Custom exhaust?

Offhand, I can't think of any rubber hoses that go near the exhaust. The common setup in later years was main supply line of LH side, and breather and return lines on RH side. Both loop around and straight onto chassis rail mounted hard lines and there's a leafspring setup between there and the exhaust. The fact you had a kinked rubber line to replace makes me think something isn't correct, or is custom and they've tried to make it work around it. Be keen to see.

I will post a pic when I get home.. it does have that hard line wrapped around like you described but at some point was disconnected. It's a 75 trans am with the 455. Exhaust seems to be original as far as I can tell but I'm no expert.
