Motor question

will the gm performance parts chevy big block generation V 454 motor fit in a 1978 pontiac trans am....if so what alterations will i have to make when i install it.

You'll have to change all the Trans am emblems to Camaro emblems.  :o

well tranny for one, motor mounts, wiring harness,anything with a/c if your keeping it, probablly driveshaft, front springs will sit lower if you want that look, exhaust pipes come out unevenly,fuel tank lines might have to go up a size,shakers are different,  basically everything that touches the motor needs changed.......have you thought about a pontiac 455? car craft just did an amazing article about how to build a 500hp naturally aspirated motor, on each make of motor too!
