http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=390044068946&ssPageName=ADME:X:AAQ:MOTORS:1123

check out the ebay listing to see what I mean.

I have seen them on parts before. I have a 79 403 with  ( OK ) on the valve cover.   I'm trying to find out what go's on my 77 w72 and where and what color ink.  I  will have them made and let any one use them if they want.

I believe the codes you're talking about for the engine stamp is the 2 digit engine code...I've seen them as decals applied right on the front of the RH head (very near the stamped code itself)or slightly above on the end of the valve cover.

Your Olds 403 should read "QK"....there are a few different codes for the '77 W72.

You would go by the 2 digit engine code stamped on the front of block...WA if it's a manual, etc
