Title: Need Carb for 78 w/ man. trans.
Post by: Pap on September 07, 2021, 02:57:14 PM
Not sure why but previous owner removed original carb and installed a 17059508, which I believe was for some Chevy trucks.  Looking for an original  (No. 17058263) which is good enough to have rebuilt.

Thanks

Thanks for the response but I'm trying to find the specific carb for the W72 4-speed.

That particular carb is very hard to find.  Sometimes you can get lucky and find one on Egay.  Good luck finding one.

Are you talking your car to,Pebble Beach? If not, any w72 carb is good.

Not planning on it, but I'm assuming that the Pontiac engineers had a reason for using a specific carb.
