Y88 door cups

Looking at my Y88 door handle cups there seems to me a gold paint (camel tan?) on them that has worn off in various places. But it seems the whole thing was in that color. Any one know anything about this?

Door cups are all black and chrome/silver. They were never done in gold from the factory.

You have aftermarket door cups from a repop house like Classic Industries. Stock was black paint with a chrome surround
Of course since its your car, you're more than welcome to mask off the chrome and shoot the rest in camel tan again to freshen it up. Should be a 15 min project max. Remember to let the paint dry thoroughly before reinstalling otherwise you'll leave some evidence behind that you did the work (finger prints in the paint)

what interior is in yours? deluxe? I have another set. but are for the older birds . they work on mine, just dont quite touch the door panel at the chrome area of the cup. but should be fine with the thick deluxe panels. I'll post a pic of them in a little bit.

Interesting thing about these not so important door cups. The "gold" color on mine was also on the chrome outer edge. So today i took a piece of steel wool and tried to remove the "paint". It seems that's the color of the cups and the "chrome" paint and black in the inner was wearing off. What i actually have now is a cream colored "chrome" piece. I'm gonna shoot the inside with Camel Tan and see how it turns out. I can always get repros if I don't like it.
