Removal of cover for frt. seatbelt ??

What's involved in removal of plastic cover for frt. seatbelt retractor in the center of door sill ? Thanks

You need to remove the assembly itself first..retained with a torx bolt

What holds the plastic cover on the frt. seatbelt retractor ??? Does the seat have to come out so you can get to the cover screw ? Thanks

I would like to remove it to paint it but I may have to paint it where it's at . Thoughts were it'd be esier than taping all around it !! Thanks

Apart from two molded clips to locate the sleeve on the anchor strap, they were also melted and fastened through the plastic onto the strap. They were also likely assembled in place so the webbing was fed through and then the steel strap added inside as it doesn't really fit back through it. You can make it but often if not already cracked or broken, that's when they will. Check pic, otherwise, masking up isn't too bad! Otherwise some hot water might make it extra flexible just for a minute, remember they are only available used and more often not at all.
