Topic: Yet again another Y84 steering wheel color question for 81 and 80

Was looking at my dealer broshure for my 81 trans am and it shows a special edition turbo car with the gold steering wheel??? I was under the assumtion that they stoped the gold wheels in mid yr of 80??
Was there any exceptions and did any gold wheels get by in 1981 as well?? or is that just a 80 interior in the picture? Is there any other way to tell the yr of a the ta by just looking at the int??

Can you post a photo of what you are looking at?  Yes, in order to get the promotion stuff ready for the new year, they started the printing early to get ready for 1981.  So, my guess is that it is a 1980 interior that they are showing.
