Dash Cover Help Needed THE FULL TYPE
« on: March 23, 2008, 11:39:51 AM »
Last week I took the T/A out for a drive and everything was perfect.  This week I go out to start it up for another drive and my dash has a crack in it that seemed to come from no where.  It made me feel awfull because I've taken such good care of this car for the past 26 years and then THIS happens.

Anyway....now that I'm coming back to my senses........Does anyone have advice on dash covers? Who to buy from or who to avoid?  Any Installation advice or tips/tricks or things not to do while installing it? Are there certain things to look for in a dash cover?

I guess I'll use the Dash Cover for now and in the meantime put my name on the LONG waiting list for the reproduction dash unless I can find a GOOD used dash somewhere.

ANY advice or experience you've had with dash covers is greatly appreciated.   Thanks.

My dash cover looks good if you are not picky about detail, if you are a person who is anal about the little things I wouldn't recommend it... my car came with one one it, and as time goes on it cringe everytime I see it because of stupid little things about it... around the glove compartment drives my up a dang wall

I put one on a corvette i used to own. It looked ok after fooling around with it. It was a pain in the butt trying to get it to fit. I dont know if F body dash caps are any better but it sure beats the alternative. If it is a temporary thing they are ok.  Hope this helps.

You could always get your dash restored. I can't remember which company Hitman uses at the moment.
