Nice, always cool to see a finished trunk.
-
That is really nice! I would post mine, but that is the only project left I need to complete on my '80 SE.
-
do they repo the lable for the inflator?
-
Here is mine
[attachment deleted by admin over 90 days old]
-
yes you can get the lable . I think Pete has them. and most of the t/a parts catalogs.
-
thanks John. thats the one I wanted to see, so when my 77 W72 is done I have yours to go by. I wasn't sure about the red or blue inflator. thanks. mine had a blue inflator in it. could it go ether way? or was there a bottle and color change in them? like the black and blue jacks.

where do you guys get your spare tires and wheel?
-
I imagine most have not been used. I don't think they will ever deflate properly after use. I have seen them on ebay. If you want a factory correct, Make sure of the tire size before ya buy. They do look a like in pic's.

Gunner

I think its part of the roll cage. I just goes through the trunk I believe. He has a sweet ride.
-
where do you guys get your spare tires and wheel?
Most of us have the original for our cars as well as the original canister. The spare tires are date stamped for the year as well as month. Even my trunk carpet is original.
Wow. Thats crazy. I didn't know that. Mine had some rust and valve covers in it when I got it. I took all that out though.lol
-
I'm late on this one finally located some elusive trunk pieces just now getting pictures posted.

Here's another 34 year old original. Yes, Doug, it needs new weather stripping - and a jack bracket & wing nut if you have one that fits a 76. ...john

4 speed and others, i have a 78 brown ta and need the space saver spare and canister, have all the rest. where is a good place to buy what i need to complete the trunk. there was a guy at the nats in the swap meet area who had a few but he wanted $125 for the tire and $75 for the canister, any other options here. i really want to get this done.
-
I bought my inflatable spare off ebay for $25 and the cannister was about the same. Just got to watch for them, you can catch a deal.
-
solargold found the deal of the day.
I paid 200 w/shipping for the tire. But is in very nice condition. And found all my cans in junk yards and in parts cars. But a good can with its cardboard sleeve, label and cap should be 75 and up. And if you find one with the bottle bracket. Its name your price.
The ones I looked at the Nats , were not in good condition. I'd say they were in the 40.00 and down range
-
HUM!!I'll sell it for $200 shipped LOL. Was really surprised that no one bid on it and it does not appear to have been used, rim was not bent and in good shape. Put a little sand paper on it and repainted looks like new. Was a 15 inch, not sure what year it is for. My 77 has a 14 inch. The bottle had the cap and cardboard. I bought a reproduction decal off ebay for $8. There are also 2 sizes of bottles that I know of. No luck on the bottle bracket, yet. Some had Goodyear tires and some had BF Goodrich. I think it had to do which plant built the car. Here is one with bottle for a $99 buy it now.

tire looks out of round but may be good enough for looks (who would use it anyway). I think I have an extra rim but the tire is busted.
-
My spare had never been on the ground, and I still manage to lose the bracket for the bottle and the bracket for the jack, I think I let someone use the jack and I never put them back in. I found them on e-bay more than I really wanted to pay though. Oh well you wanta play you gotta pay.
-
I know my trunk may not be as nice as some of yalls but for now it contains all the parts to my engine rebuild and some may find that nicer than a clean trunk...haha...

Nice trunk my Solar Gold brother ::)
-
Thank you....
-
Here's mine, yes there's a repro mat under there. Trunk gets loaded daily like this. No spare or jack around town because I need the space, If I get a flat it'll go something like this "Hello AAA? Ya, please send a rollback" AHAHAHA Car was Esprit with no spoiler so I need a stick. And, the answer is...... The stick is cut to the length between the brake pedal (depressed) and the steering wheel. I replace brake fluid often for track days. Rears don't bleed quickly with vacuum pump so........ Open bleeder, press pedal, insert stick, close bleeder, remove stick, and repeat till flushed.

78 TA trunk pic
(http://i995.photobucket.com/albums/af80/dgabel7/1978%20TA/goodguys2010306.jpg)
just removed everything from trunk and added spatter paint, will apply flat clear as well, probably will still use trunk mat, but may not, it's hard to clean and gets bunched up sometimes.

where did you get that from, i would like to find a correct looking one for my 78, need that thicker material that looks more grey and white. mine now is a repop black thin felt thing which i don't like much. yours looks much closer to the real thing, costs.
-
just got mine and it is just like yours, what is up with that huge slice on the left side, does it fit properly in trunk, great mat though, the jute is really nice.
-
I have been wondering the same thing? why did they cut a slit in it ? but it will fit...
-
The slit is correct/normal...with the left side of the trunk being the deepest portion of the pan, the slit allows the mat to conform to the hump on the left side (where pan rolls up to meet trunk drop-off)
-
love the new trunk mat, about 1/4 inch thick with jute on entire backing, very nice product, got to love them repops. cloth type material, got from f body whse. very satisfied, have been wanting one like this for 2 years, finally found one, thanks 4speed.
even clocked my spare.
