i think next summer we should plan a cruise to one of these joints. tell the old ladies to stay home and have a nice cruise with a bunch of guys going to a coffee shop to hang out.

There is a nice parking lot at the BIG BEAVER LOCATION, no joke 16 mile is big beaver road, funnier yet it's exit 69 on I-75 LOL! I'll mention it to the ladies, the owner was in the other day, a f-body cruise in HMMMMMM......

Sub par, did you try it? The coffee is good, but I usually get the chai tea latte.or you can go to starbucks and see the limp wrist guy!

No, haven't tried, don't live anywhere near there. But trust me, I KNOW what great coffee is and I highly doubt this place brews exceptional quality, properly roasted beans. I don't doubt this place brews a better cup than Starbucks, it's not hard to beat. ;)

I'll call myself a passionate coffee enthusiast. Not an expert by any means.
What I mean is that Starbucks uses low quality beans that they over roast. Actually, they pretty much burn the beans. Who knows how long those low quality, burned beans have been in bags before being brewed. More than likely months. Roasted coffee goes stale in about 15 days, doesn't matter how it's packaged. If a mom and pop shop were to do any of these three things better, the brewed coffee will be slightly better.

I like Starbucks at Myrtle Beach and it seems to be very fresh and that is probably because they have such a huge turn out of customers, that they use more than usual, and replenish their stock.
Now here in our town, I hate the Starbucks.........YUCK
I do however like Dunkin Donuts coffee here much better than Starbucks here.
I also LOVE my Keurig.
Don't know where to find extremely fresh coffee beans or even tried fresh coffee beans before, so I guess I am just used to over roasted or stale beans. LOL
Now, maybe these youngin's (@ the hot spot) put something in their coffee to make it "special", that all the men love their coffee! LOL

Ever try the Gevalia coffee? you can get the basic to the rare once a year beans, as far as the Hot spot, it's not gevalia, but it's good!

No and don't plan on it for one simple reason. There is no roast date on the packaged coffee so you really don't know how long ago it was roasted. If you weren't aware, Gevalia is owned by Kraft Foods.
I purchase from a few different artisan roasters. Depends on what I'm in the mood for. I've never ordered from east coast roasters as the coffee would take too long to get here but I hear good things. There's two roasters that come off the top of my head kind of near you - Intelligentsia and Metropolis. Both are located in the Chicago area.
Don't know where to find extremely fresh coffee beans or even tried fresh coffee beans before, so I guess I am just used to over roasted or stale beans. LOL
Hmmm, I'll do a search and see if there's any roasters in your area. I'm sure there are, artisan roasting is really taking off.

It's a sad state of affairs....20 years ago we'd be talkin about what strain is the best Jamacian, Mexican, skunk, homegrown.......Now we talk about coffee...LMAO. I'm a Tim Horton's guy. I'm originally from Canada and they are on every corner! Kinda like hookers on 8 Mile over here. I have to drive 15 miles now for a Timmy Ho's. God I hate being stuck here in hillbilly hell!

I have been looking for a place out here that sells raw coffee beans so i can roast my own again. mmmmmm

Right at 300 miles from Lamesa to Fort Worth, but we have family in Cisco and that is only about 110 miles from Fort Worth.
We're out in West Texas; 71 miles east of Hobbs, N.M. I'm on the member map here now.

Ok, first I want to thank Burd Turd for sending my along one of those stickers for me, I appreciate it.
Second, I want to say I read this post when it was first posted and knew about it and I figured the post would just kinda fade away and drop off. Well, when I kept seeing it there and it is now up to 7 pages, I had to come back and check it out. I read it when it was first posted, but then didn't check it back out until now. Now I see why this thread is still going and is 7 pages long. Burd Turd has asked me for lunch if I was ever up his way, but I am holding out until he invites me for Coffee up his way...LOL. (actually I do not drink coffee)
Everyone tries this "theme" every once in a while with different things... coffee, car washes, etc. They come and go.. mostly go because of the people in the area that petition to get rid of places like those. Kinda sad that there is always the few that ruin it for the many.
As far as some of the other comments on here ... well, I am going to keep my comments about those to myself so I don't get into trouble....

Cool stickers! I don't think there is anything wrong with a little creative marketing and thinking outside the normal channels. I see it as harmless fun, and a good business model, key emphasis on FUN! I think in today's PC world, everyone is scared to "offend" some person or group-I say get over yourself! If you can't have fun, laugh at yourself, your friends and family.............life is going to be really hard! BTW- I LOVE COFFEE! My favorite has to be Blue Mountain (Jamaica)

I don't want to be a party pooper, but the place seems like it needs some soap and water. I think it is a great concept, but without the hot girls the place looks like a dive. I was looking at the legs of the girl in the last picture and my eyes went to the dirty wall and then back to the legs..lol. I have been in the hospitality business for over 20years. If you want business you would start with great food/beverages and a clean and organized business. The girls are something to feature. Like mon-thurs dressed sexy without lingerie. fri sat girls in a nice hot outfit (uniform). I am not sure if my wife would get any food or coffee in this place. The short term the business will prob make some money, but I would bet if this business stays the same it won't be in business to long.....

Trust me I see just as sexy girls here at the grocery store never mind all the thongs at the beach. I lived in michigan most of my life so I do go back to see family. Its good to see the detroiters going back to work, even if it is in a dirty coffee place. I just think the girls deserve to work in a clean establishment. There probably wouldn't be a coffee place if it weren't for them. I just think if it was done right it could be a big business (think hooters).

The site (Link removed by Admin) site left a bad taste in my mouth. If you are serious about your cars stay here if you want to BS and be like a little kid go there. That is my opinion. there is some new pics of hot spot girls and a thread about dogs posing with celebs. they will delete any posts they don't like and yet bash what they call the mall police here. I don't want to bash what others do, but I seriously feel as if they are disrespecting this site. Seems like some like to stir up tension here..I simply don't get it.
If you want to label me as the "bad guy", that's fine...if you want to do my "job" here, that's fine also. I'd much rather sit back like the majority and take no responsibility for following the rules, ignore answering questions/helping others, and maintaining some sense of peace here...but sadly judgement isn't always 100% in large groups so others are needed to help out and I'm one of them. If you want the title and responsibility that goes with it, let me know and I'll toss you the "badge"....you can also answer all the question via PM's (and the nasty angry ones as well)
As for what gets discussed here, yes this site is mainly about cars... specifically about 2nd gen Firebirds; but of course other topics of general interest are welcome and actually needed to keep things from getting stale.
Keeping a sense of decency here is important and is part of the agreement for membership on this site. This is not just a mens club...there are children and women here as well. Some pictures of scantily clad females is fine but crossing the line of appropriate is not acceptable. I have no personal problem with it and am not easily offended myself but watching out for others and following the rules set forth for Hitman's "house" is part of the job.
As Bob pointed out, there are plenty of other places to look at pictures of women, it is not the main focus of this site.
If you wanna' post pix...look at pix...please by all means feel free. But be considerate of others (and the site rules).
I and others have types out these simple thoughts many times and I'm sure this won't be the last time either.
I ask that instead of dragging this on and on and arguing it to death...just drop it and move on to the next topic and enjoy yourselves here.

Jeff is right here...... Yes, we do like to look at photos of scantily clad girls, but lets at least leave something to the imagination when it comes to them. Yes, sometimes just naked girls are not porn, but it is also not all the times appropriate for this site. And sometimes other photos of not naked girls is not alright either. I mean a few pages ago with Ms. Camel-Toe is really something that I think was not appropriate for the site, but I let it slide. Sure, she was fully clothed, but re-color that photo and again there is nothing left for the imagination to imagine. By in large, most times the photos have been just fine for here, but sometimes they get close to pushing the edge and we just have to say "Hey, just tone it down a little". Most of the times we are not yelling at someone or scolding them, just letting them know what goes a little too far or not. Yes, everyone has different opinions of what is too far and what is not, but I think we have tried to make the line of what WE think is appropriate here and what is not. Yes, Television and News reports have violence everywhere and Vulgar comments that would not have been seen on TV 20 years ago and times have changed. Now I am not saying this site should be back in the70's, I am just saying we try to keep it somewhat clean and friendly here. We have had members here as young as 13 years old. For those of you who have kids.... would you want your 13 year old son looking at some of these photos? Yes, and I know some of the Father's out there are like "Hell Yes!".... but what if it was your 13 year old daughter? Would you feel the same way?
Anyway, like I said, overall this is a good thread... and I am not saying stop, We are just saying use a little judgement.
