I need to replace the stock 3/8 fuel line with a 1/2 inch . my problem is the line that enters into the tank is only 3/8 and isn't easily made to 1/2 inch . Does anybody make a new unit to drop in that has a larger suction line with the gauge unit on it ? Or can I just block it off , and drill a hole in the sending unit for a 1/2 line and run a new line out of it ? If so what type/brand of fittings can I use to assure it wont leak there ? I dont want to run a fuel cell ,and would like to keep the factory tank for a stock looking appearance ? Any input would be most appreciated.

why do you have to go to 1/2 inch ? if you have a motor that powerful then you should probablly run an electric pump which then you will just need to add a sump to your gas tank.....that is if you absolutely need 1/2 inch line

anyone know of a place that sells a cap for the fuel pump port for when you take it out ?

eroc is correct w/ needing an electric pump if you engine can utilize a 1/2" line. One thing I found out is that a 7/16" line would probably work , but a -7 AN fitting does not exist so that makes people go to the 1/2" line. just be sure to have a 3/8" return line. one thing to keep in mind s that as the fuel flows back to te tank, it is heating up due to friction. hot fuel is not the best for performance. A sump would be beneficial, however it is not nessecary unless do plan on cornering hard on low fuel. as for the in tank inlet, i would think you could replace it with a 1/2" pipe, just weld it up nicely. block off plates are available from many places, pioneer, kre, summit ect. or just take a piece of aluminum and cut and drill it to the shape you need.

Why do you need 1/2" line. My car has an 8-71 Blower in it pushing 800HP and I am only running a 3/8 line.

I've never run anything larger than 3/8" either. I've got plumbing in my house smaller than 1/2". lol

If u are raceing 1/2" line aluminum is what you need. Espesicaly if its a work 455. If its a mild 400 keep the 3/8". Work 455 meaning e-heads or kre heads flowing and big cam 540 or bigger. A friend had a worked 455 ran slower with 3/8" lines than the junk yard 455 with same lines. Replaced with 1/2 lines and picked up a full sec. will be better wants dialed in.
