the new rear console is out.   and thanks to Joe  (Joe74ta)  being good friends with Dave the maker of it.  I now have #1 of the first run of 5 made.

How much are those going for and what is the availability? I'm sure my kids would appreciate that, seeing that they'd be going from a macked-out Tahoe with DVD to an old car with... uh, ash trays? lol

only 5 have been released so far.    FBodyWarehouse, Ames, Year One and Classic Ind.  will be selling them.   so you'll need to check with them on pricing and availability.

but are alot cheaper then finding a NOS console.  even cheaper then finding one and having it recovered by just dashes.

Sir--- is that rear console a match to the from console by the way of texture and coloring (Not a blue/black like plastic)?

yes its a hair cell texture.  padded vinyl wrap.  all metal brackets/mounts.   it just like a stock GM console. 
Ive seen a pic of it setting beside a GM console , you cant tell the differance in them.  Dave spent alot of time to make it just like the GM console. 

it only comes in black so there is no issues with a color match ( need to color it your self )  just like the new repro dash and front console. black only.

I guess I need to check with them and see if there is any way to just buy the ash tray.
A couple of years ago I bought an original rear seat console, but it has the wrong ash tray and the lid is different.

I was told the ashtray is the exact same ashtray as for the Astrovans from the 90's if you strike out with the repop console.

I had one of those repop consoles in my hands at the Nationals and I'm telling you its a good looking piece.
