Something other forums have done to reduce space and bandwidth is to limit user signatures to only be include once per post.

First. Thank you for all you've done over the past 15 years.

I agree with your initial ideas/actions. Maybe it won't even take much more than deleting non users and 10 year old parts for sale ads.

This forum was a huge help when restoring my bird.
Many thanks for keeping it going.
I don’t see anything wrong with deleting all of your suggestions.
Anyone like myself who hasn’t logged in for awhile should have gotten your email and logged in to stay current.

You do whatever you feel you need to do to save the valuable information.
While I haven't logged in in a long time, I frequently reference here for answers to questions.

I'm also on an H-body forum (Vega/Monza), and it is a WEALTH of info, just like here. .... for years.  Lots of builds, restorations and how-to's.

This info is organized, its been discussed, edited and verified by many users.... so it HAS to be saved.
Facebook posts soooooo horrible.   Same old questions over and over.  Replies are at the mercy of whoever is on the keyboard at the time.  Dealing with attitudes,  opinions and flat out wrong information......

I've had issues while accessing the forum's info due to not being able to scroll left or right to see all the post/info.  I know it's something on my end .... so I never posted about it.

Please save this valuable info........

- 250+ pages of "Where are you from and Introduce yourself "
Really needed? It's cool ... but is it relevant and valuable information?

- Limit Signature/Avatar size?
Having them only posted once per thread as mentioned before ... if possible.

Maybe there are other ways to trim the fat ..... I'm not very computer smart ....

I see no issue with either of the steps you are suggesting

I hope you will continue this site as I have referenced quite a bit in the past and know I will be looking for more info this spring when I start working on the car some more.

This is a great forum

is the limitation only the the size of the sql database? or is it for the site overall? it wouldnt be hard to archive all the old posts, and save them as static pages, that would allow you to keep the entire history of the site available, and cut down on the size of the sql at the same time.
