power steering pump 400

Anyone ever heard of a power steering pump whining real loud only when the car is driven a while and hot? I have a 78 TA 400 and the car turns fine. It just yellls like crazy once it has been driven a while . Its a new pump from NPD. It has less than 50 mles on it.

Grab your manual and follow the instructions for bleeding the air out of it. That'll probably straighten it out.

Sorry... I assume you mean the pump is whining and not the belt???
