Hi, RSD. They are called louvers. Classic Industries sells them.

The interpart brand aluminum louvers from the 1970's are usually the most desired but they are not produced new anymore. If you search on ebay for louvers (firebird, trans am) you will spot some used louvers for sale.  Look for decent used ones that are not dented, dinged or twisted and you can repaint them as needed.

Black with orange/red decals is what I've had in mind for some time to do on my '79 (someday... :? ). I had been planning/buying towards a black interior. Lately, I'm leaning towards a tan (Camel) interior. Any opinions on that interior clashing with the decal color I mention?? I kinda' worry that it might not look right.....

I'd be down with the orange/red decals and the black exterior, and the camel interior with the black exterior would work -- but I dunno about the orange/red decals and the camel interior combo.  Maybe it'd work OK, but...well...have you dug through the pics from the Nats to see if there were any like that?  Ooops -- that's right -- those pics are all gone, lost in the flames of the TAC crash... :(

I'm telling you guys, this crash is gonna HURT -- sooner or later it's going to sink in, and that's going to be UGLY.

Jeff, I'd try searching to see if you can find any cars with that combo now to see how it'd look.

Yeah, I need to try and Photoshop something I guess as I have seen very few T/A's with that exterior color combo, let alone any with tan interior.

I feel it wouldn't look right. :?

I know it's not one of the combos you mentioned, but what about red interior?  8)

Actually that was the original color of the interior (Carmine). No offense to anyone but I hate red interiors. I bought it/drove it with red for 10 years and don't wanna' see a red dash in my face again   .

Car was factory issued Platinum silver ext. and Carmine red int. Nothing particularly special about the '79 (WS6, 403, etc.) so I plan to do what I want with it whereas the '77 SE is going back as stock (if/when).

If I go with black ext, a tan interior nearly limits me to gold decals IMO and I don't want to end up with two black/gold 'birds. By the same token, I don't want both cars to have black int. Who knows, who cares...it's all a ways off. Keep the opinions coming...
