Topic: Restoring 78 trans Am

I found a 78 that has been stored in a barn for 10 years. 400 Auto coupe with matching numbers. 36000 miles,body looked good just needed some work to make it like new. I've had it 3 months and made good progress. New Gas tank/lines/sending unit. New sway bar, rad and hoses. All new rubbers and weather stripping.2" drop springs in the front and 2" drop rear leaf springs. I saw many posts on here mentioning Dave at PTFB. I want the GT kit but havent recieved any response from email or phone calls to purchase. Looking to get Year One 17x9 rims and new tires. Also new interior ( seat covers and door panels).Inner fenders and also thinking of building the engine up to get some more HP.  Been lots of fun so far cant wait to drive it.

Dave is currently moving shop so not responding. His emails are full and customer service wasn't the selling point but the parts were good. Be patient. No Firebird should have to wear a pink nose emblem.

Thanks for the reply, I will wait a bit and try in a month. As for the pink nose emblem.. replaced that too, unless you were referring to the decal, I'm thinking of changing it to the gold.

Yes, was just kidding about the emblem. Car looks really clean. Drive it and enjoy for a bit before thinking of anything too involved in engine work otherwise before you know it you've had it in pieces 10yrs and still not back on the road.
