Guys, anyone know the torque specs for timing cover bolts on a 77 400. The two top bolts that go through the water pump, through timing cover to block. I see, 22, 30, 20. Not finding one clear answer. Thanks

I checked my 1978 factory service manual and it specs 30 lbs. ft for timing cover bolts and 15 lbs. ft. for the water pump itself. I wouldn't think it would be different between a 1977 and 1978 400 engine. I hope this helps. It also didn't spec those bolts you described other than what I listed above.

torque specs are at the end of each section. Good luck with your T/A.
