I have come across a 1966 tempest for sale.($2,000) The body is in good shape but the frame is bad.It is a 6 banger bench seat auto.The good frame that goes with it has a 389 and auto.He allready has the dog house off,the tank pulled,steering unhooked and all but 2 body bolts removed.There is a half dozen pin holes in driverside floor(rust).I have never bought a basket case car.I have bought alot of basket case BSA,Triumph and harley bikes and that can be a real pain in the you know what.Am I looking at more trouble than what its worth being a 6 banger plain jane or were the tempests a pretty simple car to assemble and possibly worth the tim? Right now I am trying to get my engine rebuilt in my 50 dodge(cant find a rod anywhere) and the interior and paint on my 52 plymouth done.
There has to be a tempest or goat junkies in here somewhere.What do you think? What could I be looking at,A good investment or a headache?
