Why would that kill the value if it's in good shape?  You plan to rebuild the stock engine anyway so miles really doesn't come into play if a resto is going to be done.

This is true, I figured the extremely high milage would bring the value way down though. I mean, I plan to keep the car, and drive it into the ground. Once the restoration is done, it's staying with me. It looks like we'll rebuild the numbers matched 403 now also. I didnt know that high milage didnt play a big effect in a resto project..will be posting pics today, going to try and find a build sheet!

I used to have a Mercedes, after getting into my G8 I hate german cars, nothing like American Horse Power!  I can't wait to get my TATA running!

I have built BMW's for the past few years, and they are great. Nothing corners like them...and when done right, the amount of torque that little car has accelerating into a turn is a blast.

I just got in from an hour cruise in my TATA and alls i have to say is holy s#^*. When those secondaries in the q-jet open up, it's the best feeling ever. I cannot wait to have this thing together and restored! I kinda wanna build a decent hp 403 and just drop it in, but that's gonna be a good while. Interior, exterior, all the while-your-at-its....then I can focus on a new motor...

Hows your project coming dave?

Mine is coming along good, cleaning floor pans today yuk.  I hope to have the frame on by monday as I have a little more work to do tomm.

Don't waste your time on a 403 other than to restore yours to stock.  If you are going to swap the motor just go with a 400 or 455 Poncho.  Olds parts are too expensive =)

Not many people build up the olds motors, I think it'd be kinda cool, and worth it to have the look of the 403 under the hood. Plus, it'd be a direct drop in..Doesn't the engine bay need some modifications to accept the 400 or 455's? I'm going to restore mine to stock for sure, just in a year or two ha.

Cant wait to see yours with the frame back on! My floor pans are pretty clean in the back, haven't checked up front. Gotta get the turn signal working, and figure out whats going on with my e-brake this weekend.

The 400 and 455 will bolt right in to the engine bay so no worries on that for ya.  403's are pigs without doing heavy mods to it.  If you're going to do it, go Poncho and get more bang for your buck.  I have an Olds 455 but only because thats what happened to be in the car, but if I was buying one I would have gotten a Pontiac.

You can't wait??? I definatly can't wait!
