My Silver '77 T/A Refresh Project **Progress Update 04/26/2013**
« on: December 05, 2012, 12:36:46 AM »
Well after waiting 22 years, my project has officially begun !

Finally started my tear down this weekend. Everything looks pretty good considering it's 36 years old.
The only problem I encountered was breaking loose the middle sub frame bolts. Looks like I have some welding to do on sub frame nut retainers.  :-x

Area under the battery tray held up pretty good.

Factory original red oxide primer is such a beautiful sight.  :)

A shot of my cowl tag.

********************************************************************************************************************************************

My abused 15x8 snowflakes that I've been hiding for 20 years is finally going to get restored back to their original glory with exception of a color change of course.

All boxed up and waiting on the UPS truck.

Thank You PyrettaBlaze.

I've owned this car for 28 years so it's due for a little attention.  ;)

Good luck with the project. Are you keeping the car silver?

Thank You Nate.

Yea, I'm partial to silver some reason.   The paint is in great shape as the car was painted in '90 with urethane base/clear and has been kept in a climate controlled garage under a cover since then. The only thing I want to do to the exterior is remove and replace the shaker decals with the correct ones and redo the hood bird because the installer got a little trash under the decal and it irritates me every time I look at it.  >:(

The car originally came with rally wheels but back in 78/79 the original owner (my cousin) replaced them with some chrome aftermarket and sold the originals so I'm going to put these snowflakes back on it.

Shaker would you believe I do not have any since it was painted over two decades ago.  ???  Back then pics was not as easy as they are today with digital cameras and such so it was not something I even thought about.
I'm in the process of digging my car out the stuff that seems to have collected around it and get some pics after I shine it up I promise.

I'll have to go through some of my old photos and see if I have any that show my car and scan them in.

Kinda looks like the tail lights of another T/A in the background of the upper left corner.

Pete & Heather @ fbodywarehouse.com   I cant remember but it was either their black Friday or cyber Monday special but it was hard to pass up so I jumped on it . The deal also came with new center caps and lug nuts.
