Clear Coat for re-dyed dash

(1/1)

fb_rider:
I dyed (with SEM) my dash yesterday, and so far I am very happy with how it looks.  On Fbodyware.com's website, they mention that they clear coat everything they dye with a satin clear coat.  Since SEM doesn't make a clear coat, I bought some Krylon satin crystal clear today.  I'm wondering if anyone else has had any experience or has any opinions about clear coating a dyed dash (or other parts for that matter).  I'm kind of hesitant - once it put it back it the car I don't want to ever have to take it out again!

79Formula:
How long did it take you to take the dash out? Was it that difficult?

fb_rider:
It took a couple of hours.  There was a lot to disconnect, and I'm sure it's going to take some time and thought to get everything reconnected correctly!

80indypace:
SEM do sell clear coat--it is call satin gloss and I am very happy with the way it look.  Make sure you spray one light coat at a time. let it dry then spray more.

fb_rider:
Where did you buy it from?
