That looks like an OE late 2nd gen Camaro dash to me.  My buddy's '79's dash looks almost exactly like that one, aftermarket gages and all.

those look expensive, what do they run? any idea?

They're really not too bad.  By the time you buy the seats and the seat adapter kit for them and pay shipping you're probably looking at $700-$800 for the pair.

That's not bad???

i can get a set of 2002 trans am front power leather seats with 50k miles on them for less than $300.  wonder if i should keep looking for other seats or just get these and put them in there.

Depends on the condition. 50k miles isn't much for a car, but seats still get worn and leather needs more care than many others. But if they are in good shape that's a good route to take. And any seats can fit with work.

Larry,
That price doesn't sound bad compared to what my Recaro interior in my modded '81 Turbo Trans Am cost.
I paid over 6 grand, back in the day (1981)! :o
But, I am very happy with them, and wouldn't trade for anything.
Well, maybe tan leather, and drop them into my 20th TTA. ::)

I'm probably going to be using a pair of $50 S10/Camaro seats myself.

Larry, are those pretty new seat covers you have going to fit?  Assuming your referring to The Phoenix.

what other seats fit our trans ams (79 in my case) i know the 4th gen F body seats will fit with spacers, but has anyone else tried any other seat in theirs?

There's a poster here by the name of Maltese Falcon who got a set of really slick-looking seats for his 78, but he hasn't posted in a while.  He also posts over on TAC and had some pics up before the 1/07 crash over there.  I think he's been tied up with his job and finishing a new house this past summer.  Might try sending him a PM for his input. :-\ :-\

Hey guys. As Jon noted, those were Corbeau GT8 seats, which were what Herb Adams put in the original Fire Ams. They're racing seats, so they don't recline, but they are very comfortable. They're narrow, though, so you have to watch your weight!

The retailer I contacted confirmed that they had been discontinued for years (3 to 5, IIRC) but they contacted Corbeau for me and found that they had one set left in their warehouse. So there may be other NOS seats out there, but I was told I got the last ones Corbeau had. Here are some pics. I don't have them installed yet, but I have a pic of a Fire Am interior to give you an idea:

MalteseFalcon & O'Neall - nice seats

Anyone know what the easiest to install seats are for the 2nd gen t/a are? - aftermarket, other car make, etc.

Well, I don't really have much choice. I don't have that kind of money. And stock ones aren't cheap either.

Those Corbeau's are nice, but I don't think my fat butt would fit in them!  Oh, I might be able to get in, but I'd never get back out.

Yeah, the Procar Rally seats are expensive, but they're really really nice.  I'm gonna have to put them on next year's to do list, 'cause the aluminum radiator, fans, shroud, and controller kit that I want is gonna cost nearly as much as the seats.   ;D
