Does anybody have any experience installing a set of seats from a 4th gen firebird? A found a cheap set and was thinking about picking them up. I'm gonna do fronts and backs. Any comments?

i bought a set of Tan leather power seats from a 4th Gen trans am, $175 for both in excellent condition.

now i need to decide what color to dye them, i got black carpet but not sure what color i wanna change the interior to. Don't care too much about Black interiors.

Well back to the orig question........ I myself dont know what it takes to get the 4th gen seats to fit.

But from being and old Iroc nut i do know that a 3rd and 4th gen seat and tracks are totaly interchangable and bolt up very good... so i guess if you can put 4th gens in then the same mods would be needed to put in 3rd gen seats. some GTA's have cool leather seats!! I also know of ppl useing the fiero seats in there 3rd gens with no mods (i think they use there 3rd gen tracks tho so a person could put a set of 4th gen tracks on a set of fiero seats...then you can have speakers in your headrests.

I had a s10 back yrs ago with a set of 90's mitsibishi (eqlipes i think) seats in it with lumbar support and they were the most cumfotable and supportive seats ive sat in, even better then the 4th gens i had in my iroc.
They wherent moded too much if i remeber correctly.

The fourth gen seats are pretty much the same as the thirdgen GTA-type seat.
The headrest are different.
That's why they interchange.
When a new generation is made, they try to use as much as they can from the other generation.
Now, about other seats.
Alot of people get the early Fiero seats to use, as they came with stereo speakers in the built in headrest.
Something to think about.

How about these.     They are Recaro's , but not the stock 81 Pacecar seats.  Thes are a higher level.   Sometimes just looking around you can find something good.

You will like them.  I have a set of 2000 T/A black leather seats formy 71 Camaro.

Sorry to resurrect this topic, but has anyone else gotten those Pro Car Rally Seats and installed them in a car with a console? That's my concern, is the that seat may be too wide, but I could be wrong.

I had the SCAT Pro car seats in my 81 camaro 4 spd car and they fit great no problem with the center console.
