You should not have to buy a different fan if you have the original 7 blade fan. If you decide to buy a thermal fan clutch, the 7 blade fan will bolt onto the new fan clutch.

Yes, Olds 403 with a/c has a 7 blade fan.

Old post, incomplete info that matters.

That depends on year and options if it had the 7-blade fan. The 6-blade fan was larger diameter, had deeper pitch and blade size and was for HD cooling with AC. Possibly not available in 79 with all the extras, his was a 78.
