Hey Murdock, are you in the town mentioned in the old song "Wreck of Ol' 97"? It's a very very old country standard with unknown origin... Just a cool factoid IMO  8)

They tried to put too many cars on the track at one time.  The first group that went out probably had 30 some cars.  The second group had some 60 cars, and there just wasn't enough room to get the cars stretched out.  They also didn't tell us we weren't supposed to pass, and I think that was an issue with track personnel, from what I heard.
I was in the first group and it was no better or not by much. Pace car kept it slow and you had to really drop back to get some room for speed. I managed to hit 70mph once. Did not see any passing but heard one car was drifting through the turns. Should have rhode with him

I do.  In fact, I live within 500 feet of the where the railroad used to be that Old 97 made its last run on.
